If you want to buy a PS2, DON'T...
...Not yet anyway...
Think about it, it's price will drop in half a year...
...wait a bit, it might turn out to be a flop...
... then again it might not but later models will be of a better quality...
TODAY's LESSON:
DO NOT BUY A PS2 YET!
PLAY ON YOU CURRENT CONSOLE/PC UNTIL AROUND AUGUST AND THEN MAKE YOUR DESCISION!
YOU WILL BE LIKELY TO CHOSE BETWEEN:
PS2 (will be around £200-£250)
GAMECUBE (will be around £150-£200)
BOTH ARE LIKELY TO HAVE GREAT GAMES.
WHY CHOOSE GAMECUBE:
>MORE EXCLUSIVE TITLES
>MAYBE CHEAPER
>GAMES FROM NINTENDO AND RARE
WHY CHOOSE PS2:
>MORE TITLES
>MAY HAVE FINAL FANTASY AND MGS2 EXCLUSIVELY
>PLAY'S DVD
I'm going for the colourful cube.
You might prefer a PS2.
Wait a year and then you'll know exactly what to get!
Unreal Tournament. Who's with me!
> What happened to that GC vs PS2 owners thing?
It's still in the Gamecube forum. I'll leave it dormant for a while untlil the game actually comes out and then we'll make this big PS2 Vs Gamecube rivallry building up to a huge fight with the old line up...
Even as a PS2 fan, I bought it more for what's coming, than what's already out.
With the greatest respect to the Japanese... they may be unhappy with the games available, but to be honest, with a few notable exceptions, the best games on PS1 came from Europe and the US. So the games to come from our software houses could/should improve their situation too. And for every unhappy punter, I bet they could have found 3 happy ones, if they'd looked hard enough.
Finally, maybe I'm being daft, but am I the only one who thinks that MSNBC may have a certain other company's forthcoming console in mind when writing/posting such stories?
I mean, you wouldn't exactly expect Sega to post an article on their web forums saying how great the PS2 is and how well Sony did with PS1... would you? :-)
Anway, to each their own. I'm happy with mine - and the games - and that's enough for me!
... You might want to ignor it!
