Hi folks. been trying to set a HL server up so me and my cuz can mess about on our own personal server.
anyway i set it up in halflife in create server ect and give me cuz the ip and a few other people join who i don't know but my cuz can't see the server and it will add it but won't ping it ect and sometimes it don't come up at all.
is there an easier way to do a server on HL or any other FPS?

right done it in the end, i used game spy to find it and my cuz uses it now so he can see what server i'm on ect anyway which is cool.
the reason i couldn't do it manually is coz of my router and NAT. it translated the ports and gave the wrong ip GRRR
sorted now using gamespy is easy and i can find out the proper ip and port from that.

UNreal servers are very easy to set up if all you want is a mess around. Just go to Multiplayer>start new multiplayer game and then fill in all the details e.g admin pass, password, map, settings. Then once it is running open the multiplayer window choose the LAN games tab, right click copy location and then paste this to your friend.
