SRW CHAMPIONSHIP NO.1 CONTENDERS SEMI-FINALS:

Triple Threat Semi-Final:
Goldberg (Cong Man) vs Kane (Starlight) vs Cactus Jack (RM18)
Written by LL Cool TT

JR: This match is scheduled for just one fall, there are no eliminations, just the first person to get a pinfall or a submission will win and be entered into the final for the SRW CHAMPIONSHIP NO.1 CONTENDERS FINALS!

King: So is it no-DQ? Cos only pinfalls or submissions count.

JR: Err…hadn’t thought about that…I’ll talk to the Commish.

(Gets up and leaves for three minutes, then sits back down with a mic)

JR: Okay, for this following match, pinfalls or submissions only, but the match is NOT no-DQ. If a wrestler is deemed to be worthy of being disqualified by referee Nick Patrick, then he will be eliminated, and the remaining two competitors will battle it out for the shot at the shot, if you see what I mean…

Howard Finkel: This following match is a Triple Threat Semi-Final, for the No.1 Contender’s shot at the SRW Heavyweight Championship!

(The lights cut out)

BOOM! Kane’s music hits.

Finkel: The first competitor, weighing in a 285 pounds, The Big Red Machine, Kane(Starlight)!

Kane walks down to the ring, climbs over the top rope, and raises his hands to call upon the fires of hell-

Kane’s music cuts; Cactus Jack(RM18)’s starts up.

Cactus runs to the ring, where an incensed Kane(Starlight) meets him with a hand to the throat! Fink’s left the ring, and Cactus(RM18) leaves the ground…CHOKESLAM! Kane hoists Cactus Jack’s body up, and OOOHHHH! He rammed his shoulder into the ring post, and Cactus Jack folds out the ring! What a start, and we’ve only got 2/3 of the wrestlers out yet!

Kane(Starlight) is standing on the apron, seemingly calling out the as-yet unseen Goldberg(Cong Man)!

(Goldberg(Cong Man)’s music hits, the sparklers have been set off)

Here he comes! It’s only a matter of time before he appears…isn’t it? C’mon, where the hell is Goldberg(Cong Man)?! The sparklers have stopped, but the music rages on! Where is he? Wait a second, what’s Cactus Jack(RM18) doing? He’s sneaked up behind Kane(Starlight), and is biding his time. He swivels Kane(Starlight) around, and lands a deep knee to the gut…Kane(Starlight) is leaning between the top and second ropes, when Cactus Jack(RM18) grabs the arms…you know what’s coming! DOUBLE-ARM DDT! Kane(Starlight)’s throat rebounded off the second rope is a hangman-esque move! Great and unusual legitimate innovation by Cactus Jack(RM18)! But where the hell is Goldberg(Cong Man)? His music is STILL blaring out!

What the…Goldberg(Cong Man)’s fireworks have been set off somewhere in the audience, at one of the fire exits! The doors have opened, white smoke billowing out of the exit, and…IT’S GOLDBERG! He’s her-wait a minute! That’s not Goldberg! That’s that damned Gillberg! He’s being accompanied to the ring by several security guards, but why has he come out instead of Goldberg(Cong Man)? I don’t know about you fans, but I feel cheated! Has it come to this for the supposedly undefeatable Goldberg? Replacing himself with a cheap rip-off? Good Lord on high…

Kane(Starlight) and Cactus Jack(RM18) are brawling on the outside of the ring, but mercifully, no weapons have been used by that deranged Cactus Jack…yet. Cactus(RM18) has the upper0hand at the moment, landing various shots to Kane’s head and mid-section – right-hand deep into Kane’s stomach, followed by a left, another right, goes for an extra left, but Kane(Starlight) grabs Cactus Jack(RM18)’s hand, twists it, and gets Foley in a body press, high above the concrete floor! Things are looking bad for Cactus Jack, but Gillberg chops Kane’s knee! Jack falls onto Kane, and Gillberg sickeningly puts his foot on the pair of them, raising his hands. The crowd could not be angrier with Gillberg, and probably indeed with Goldberg(Cong Man) for screwing the fans over! Resounding boos echo through the arena as Gillberg stomps away on the fallen Kane, and Cactus crawls away…

Gillberg throws Kane(Starlight) back into the ring, and starts stamping on Kane’s neck, which has already been affected by that brutal double-arm hangman by Cactus Jack(RM18), who incidentally is rummaging under the ring for something, but if he uses any foreign object, he gets disqualified! What? Cactus has just crawled deep under the ring, hiding himself! Gillberg whips Kane(Starlight) into the ropes, and hip tosses him onto the mat. Gillberg picks Kane up, and throws him to the mat again with a nice deep arm-drag. Here’s another, and a third, but after attempting a fourth, Kane gets wise, and puts Gillberg’s right arm into a strong hammer-lock. Gillberg’s ride could end here, folks, as Kane trips up the fraudster and gets him in a camel clutch-like position while still holding that hammerlock in place! Gillberg is squealing in pain, but Kane(Starlight) has foolishly relinquished his grasp on that twig of an arm of Gillberg’s. We’re five minutes through this match, and we only have one of the actual competitors properly wrestling!

Gillberg rolls away to the outside, and Kane(Starlight) quickly follows. Gillberg struggles to his feet, where he is met by a hand to his throat! Looks like it’s chokeslam time! Up he goes-what the?! Cactus Jack(RM18)’s hand has emerged with what seems to be a STAPLE-GUN! He presses it onto Kane’s calf, pulls the trigger-OOOOHHHHH! The ref was still in the ring, and so only saw Kane buckle! It doesn’t seem as though Cactus(RM18) Kane collapses to the floor, and Gillberg crashes down, his right ankle baring the brunt of it. Cactus(RM18) has withdrawn his hand back under the ring, leaving Kane to try and pick out the philanthropist of pain that is the muscle-shredding metal staple! Gillberg limps to the guard-rail, where he tries to get some support from the barrier, while Kane(Starlight) tries the same with the ring apron.

Gillberg must realise that his time in this match is limited, and so-WAIT! A hooded fan has Gillberg round the throat, choking the life out of that little rat! And now that hooded fan has a glass bottle, and HE SMASHES IT OVER GILLBERG’S HEAD! The security guards are struggling under the power of the hooded fan, but now he’s removing the hood-IT’S GOLDBERG(Cong Man)! IT’S REALLY GOLDBERG! He’s here, and he’s leapt over the guard rail like a cat! He charges up and SPEARS THE BIG RED MACHINE(Starlight)! Kane had nowhere to go, and Goldberg(Cong Man) took advantage by spearing Kane right into the ring apron! Kane is holding his mid-section in agony, but Goldberg(Cong Man) seems to be done with him. He’s clearly looking for Cactus Jack(RM18) now. He ventures underneath the ring, and now we can’t see a thing! BOOM! The ring just moved there, what the hell happened? BOOM! There it goes again! THWACK! CRACK! What the hell is going on down there?! Who’s beating up who? Wait, there’s some movement now, who’s this emerging from underneath the ring…it’s Goldb-OH MY GOD! Goldberg(Cong Man) has a giant cut running right down his skull, and there seem to be three metal staples along it as well! Oh my God…Goldberg is bleeding profusely, now Cactus Jack(RM18) has emerged from the other side of the ring. Nick Patrick has finally recognized Goldberg’s sorry state, but now Cactus Jack has pulled Patrick aside and is talking to him…Patrick is just nodding his head like a dog at the moment, and now has called for a mic.

Patrick: Although Goldberg has been brutally injured, there is no evidence whatsoever that Cactus Jack(RM18) attacked Goldberg(Cong Man) illegally, and so the match will continue!

Hang on, let’s think about this: if Cactus Jack(RM18) did not attack Goldberg(Cong Man) illegally, then why would he go over to Nick Patrick and plead his innocence immediately, and not wait until Patrick had made his own decision? Add to that the fact that Cactus Jack(RM18) is deranged and has already attacked Kane with a staple-gun tonight, you get the feeling Cactus has manoeuvred himself very cleverly out of a tough position.

Back to the action: Kane(Starlight) has recovered a little, and is throwing Goldberg(Cong Man) back into the ring. Kane also clambers into the squared circle, but both he and Goldberg are easy prey for the sick Cactus Jack(RM18)! He meets them with stereo low blows, but NO! They both trapped Cactus(RM18)’s arms in between their legs before the shots were delivered. Cactus Jack is in big trouble and he knows it, as both Kane and Goldberg stare him down…WHAM! BOOM! BAM! SMACK! BOOM! A flurry of blows rains down on Cactus Jack’s back! Kane(Starlight) and Goldberg(Cong Man) take Cactus Jack(RM18) to the ropes, whip him across, and they kick his legs away in tandem! Cactus Jack flies back-first into the ropes, and lands on his head! Eugh, that doesn’t look good for Mick Foley. Kane and Goldberg pick Cactus Jack up, whip into the ropes, take him up, and they both apply an awesome pendulum backbreaker! They keep hold of Cactus though, and drop him down with a tandem sidewalk slam! Goldberg(Cong Man) has gone for the first cover in this blood-soaked melee:

SMACK! Kane(Starlight) just kicked Goldberg(Cong Man) right in that huge cut in his head! Goldberg is paralysed in pain, while Kane picks Cactus Jack(RM18) up, and puts him on his shoulders…POWERSLAM! Cactus Jack is now lying prone near the turnbuckle, but Kane has turned his attention to Goldberg(Cong Man), who is still holding his head in pain. Kane(Starlight) pushes him into the corner, and starts pummelling away on Goldberg! Kane backs off, taunting Goldberg. Goldberg runs at him, but is caught, as Kane walks over to the corner with Cactus Jack in it, and PLANTS GOLDBERG ON TOP OF CACTUS JACK! That looked very painful for both Cactus Jack(RM18) and Goldberg(Cong Man), but Kane(Starlight) clearly now has the upper hand. He drags Cactus away from the ropes to the centre of the ring, and covers him for the pin:

1

2

KICK OUT! Cactus Jack(RM18) has kicked out, and Kane is furious! He storms over to Goldberg, and proceeds to try and open up that cut! He’s punching, kicking, even biting it to inflict more pain on his opponent. Nick Patrick breaks up the assualt after a long five-count, much to the displeasure of the fans. Kane(Starlight) definitely has the backing of the crowd here tonight. But will that be enough? Goldberg(Cong Man) has been brought to his feet by Kane, and now Kane seems to be going for the powerbomb to hell! Goldberg is lifted to Kane’s shoulders, and now…BOOM! An almighty powerbomb, which shook the ring to its very foundations! Kane goes for the pinfall:

1

2

CRASH! Cactus Jack(RM18) leapt on top of them, and now has picked Kane(Starlight) up by his hair, and is readying him for the DOUBLE-ARM DDT! SMACK! OOOOOHHHHH! Good Lord, Kane’s head landed right on Goldberg(Cong Man)’s skull! Kane and Goldberg have probably been knocked out, but Cactus Jack is so fatigued by this contest that he can’t make a cover either! All three men are down, as Nick Patrick administers the ten-count:

1

2

3

4

5…still no signs of movement from any wrestler…

6

7

8

9-WOAH! Goldberg(Cong Man) has just leapt up in a Cruiserweight style kip-up! He’s gone mad, and I reckon the adrenaline is flowing! He picks up Cactus Jack(RM18), only to clothesline him down again with authority! Kane(Starlight) is picked up, as Goldberg goes for a belly-to-back suplex…into a sidewalk slam! Goldberg again picks Cactus Jack up, and has thrown him into the ropes, getting ready for a STIFF SPINNING HEEL KICK! That looked bad, Cactus Jack(RM18)’s head just smacked the mat hard, and before the rest of his body caught up with it, too! Goldberg(Cong Man) rolls the fallen Foley to the outside, and seizes Kane(Starlight)’s head. He throws his left arm over Kane’s head, and you know what’s coming! Goldberg lifts Kane in the air in an amazing show of total body strength, but, but now he’s losing his balance, he can’t keep Kane up much longer, can he? Just slam him, Bill! For the love of the Lord, slam his body down now! No, no, Kane(Starlight) has turned and landed behind Goldberg(RM18), but still with a hold on Goldberg’s head…Oh my God! He’s lifted Goldberg backwards, into position for an unholy, hellacious Tombstone! It’s gotta be…BAM! TOMBSTONE PILEDRIVER TO GOLDBERG! Kane makes the cover:

1

2

3! He’s done it! Kane has won this unbelievable war on SRW Eclipse! Any of the three men could have won it, but Kane showed the most determination I’ve seen in a long while! Kane goes through to the final, to battle it out for the No.1 contenders spot at the SRW Heavyweight Title!

That should do nicely, I thought. I figured that Kane deserved a bit of a push, so do with him what you will. As usual, any comments are good comments.

"leaving Kane to try and pick out the philanthropist of pain that is the muscle-shredding metal staple!"

Excellent writing. A most impressive match, for a variety of reasons - the descriptive techniques, moves, inventive ideas, writing like the quotation above (I particularly liked that), and despite losing the match, Cactus Jack, was like a nut case, harking back to his ECW/Japan days.

Top, top stuff.

Wow, that was awesome! :D I read the whole way through, mesmerised by the action. There were loads of great points that made it such an innovative match - Gillberg's little run before Goldberg came out as a 'hooded fan', Cactus Jacl going under the ring and using a Staple Gun on Kane and Goldberg without getting himself disqualified, and the wrestling was damn good as well. :D

And also, you used a lot of the SR usernames in brackets, I like that. {:)

Brilliant match mate, I'm glad I gave you it to write, and congrats to Kane as Starlight, who I felt deserved the victory as well.
