On a hot Brooklyn afternoon, two optimistic losers set out to rob a bank. Sonny (Al Pacino) is the mastermind, Sal (John Cazale) is the follower, and disaster is the result. Because the cops, crowds, TV cameras and even the pizza man have arrived. The “well-planned” heist is now a circus. Based on a true incident, this thriller earned six Academy Award nominations.
I thought it was pretty damn good. Pacino ruled in it, although I wanted to see his demise in the film which, inevitably never happened :(
Good film. Opinions?

The guy who played Sal died three years after DDA :(
Yeah, brilliant film, I thought. Does anyone know where Sonny is now? The 20 years are up, since it was in 1972...
Sonny and Sal are lovers, by the way, and the money is for Sal's sex change op. They thought they would stroll in and out, but it all went teets up!
