Seriously thinking about going backpacking around Europe for a month next year with the Ms. I've been looking at the European Rail pass they do, it's £315 for uner 25's which is pretty good, for 1 months travel and includes pretty much all the countries in Europe. Probably crashing in Hostels to save on costs.

We did a bit of travelling around America in 06 and that was great, stayed with my sis over there a fair bit so saved us a LOT of money on accomadation and food :D Want to go back to travel from east to west coast, need to save a fair bit for that!

Just wondered if any of you guys have been travelling around Europe? Where to go? Any tips/advise etc. Was thinking if I had about £1300 for a month it'd be enough? Any places to avoid in Europe also..?

Yes, but if that treatment becomes necessary during their visit (for example, due to illness or an accident), or if they have a pre-existing chronic condition which requires care such as kidney dialysis

More of a practical thing than an actual recommendation; apply for a European health insurance card, as it entitles you to reduced (sometimes even free) medical treatment in most European countries.

Me and my girlfriend spent a weekend in Rome this summer, definately a place I would recommend despite the heafty amounts of walking. I would also like Boris Johnson to go there to see how a tube system should look and run (The Vatican line not the other one).

Venice is well worth checking out, that's my one biggest recommendation. And if you are in northern Italy, it might be worth checking out San Marino for the novelty value and reasonably-priced bottles of absinthe.

Also, i'm told that Munich and Barcelona are well worth checking out.

Brilliant! As usual the careful and intuitive production that Freeola puts into everything it sets out to do. I am delighted.
Wonderful...
... and so easy-to-use even for a technophobe like me. I had my website up in a couple of hours. Thank you.
