I want to put a html welcome/intro page on my site, then after 5 seconds I want it to disappear and the main site will load.
I just need the bit of code for a time delay - any suggestions please

The URL=/mainpage.htm can be any valid URL....

HTML by definition (static) doesn't have that sort of functionality. Follow monkey_man's example and master javascript.

In the Intro page, but this in the area, like so:

There is a way to do this in the tag, but I can't remember how - so you get the JavaScript way!
