Well, actually you have to use either ones supplied by your ISP (smtp.ntlworld.com probably), a public one (rar and crap) or a personal one like me and Andi do. But in reality you have to use the one supplied by your ISP.
Note, there's no difference between using Freeserve or NTL's SMTP servers, with the one exception that NTL's are the only ones that will work :D
I've got the NTL account on it's own now but the others can receive emails but I can't send them!
You need to change the server information for *all* of your accounts to use smtp.ntlworld.com (or maybe mail.ntlworld.com) for their SMTP servers. Yes I know it's a pain.
I noticed it only happened tho when i was trying to reply to their message, not by creating a new email.
