Yes, there are many talks about there being a PS3 in development.
But, this really annoys me for some reason, I think it's becasue I haven't even got my ps2 and they are all ready thinking about ps3!!
Do you think ps3 will affect the life of ps2? I hope not.

The PS2 was probably in developemnt when the Playstation was released in 94(Japan) 95(England). It takes years for them to get the ideas, designs, technolgy. Think about cars companys dont go oh lets make this model and then 1 week after the car gets released. I heard about Tivo around 2-3 years before that was released they were probably devlopeing that for a good 5 years. They probably have already started getting ideas for the PS3(or what ever they call it) but they wont make a mistake of releasing a PS3 till the PS2 has had a good 5 year run. There is so much powere to get from the PS2, remeber how the first generation of PS1 games looked now take a look at the new games there is so much improvement. MGS2 looks so amazing so does GT3 and the graphics can get even better.
Ohhh...thats ok then.
Maybe it`ll have 4 ports, but who cares, the PS2 has already got round that, because despite the fact it didn`t have enough space for the extra ports, there will be controllers released that will be able to plug into the USBs.

I think there are already enough add ons scheduled for the PS2, so a PS3 would probably have to be a new console. This is also suggestes by the name of course, otherwise it would be hard to tell when a PS2 ceases being a PS2 and becomes a PS3.
MAYBE Ps3 could be an add on to the Ps2..but I doubt it.
