I was lucky (I hope) and got my PS2 on launch day. I am extremely pleased with my games, (SSX and TimeSplitters) and I also think the DVD player is great. However, I am concerned that with the small amount of PS2s available that the console will not be popular enough to avoid being wiped out by the X-box.

Are there other owners that are worried they have bought a console that will fall apart "Saturn style", or is it just me?

I hope so!

Also, I agree that FF7 was a great game. I didn`t put it down for months, after trying to get every item in the game. (Admittedly, I never quite got there, but I was close "ish" )

I was also one of the "luckies" that got a PS2 on Launch day. I never had the trouble with not having enough games to choose. When I got my Original Playstation, the game that made me buy it was: Final Fantasy 7. This was newly released, so I must have had that console for 3 Years, but after buying it 2 years fater it was released, by that time there was a huge games Base, as it had time to develop! Believe me, the PS2 has Tons of games coming, it just does not look like it yet, give it 4 months, when loads of people have a Console, which is when more games will be produced as the Producers will have a reason to release more!

Thanks, I feel a little reassured. I just hope that potential future buyers of PS2 are willing to wait until March rather than getting a console fo Xmas.

Is anybody (other than me) totally addicted to SSX and TimeSplitters. I bought a multitap 2 just so I can have even more fun with the deathmatches

We just have to wait and see what Nintendo and Microsoft can do, then when it's released we can predict.

I was also one of the lucky ones who got one on launch day. I dont think there is anything to fear at all. I cant see the PS2 going the way the Saturn did, there is too much the machine is capable of doing. With hundreds of games in development and some real cracking titles coming out over the months it will only get stronger. Once developers know how to cope with the sheer strength of the machine then next generation gaming can really take off.
