I reckon over the past year or two heavy metal, rock and nu-metal have taken over all of these crappy s-club 7 and blue bands etc.............
Things like slipknot, linkin park, bon jovi, korn, rammstein an stuff have taken the globe by storm. All that "puffy" dancing and background dancers have been demolished for "the moshpit" to take over.
All this popstars the rivels and so on,whats the point in doing this all there doing is makin something that are gonna be taken down by the likes of corry taylor.Makers of popstars, theres no point in making pop bands any more just make metal bands which wont cry if they crash and burn they'll try harder an eventually make it so any pop lovers out there dont get ure hopes up.Thats all im gonna say incase i offend any one.
see ya in the funny pages.
If Slipknot sell more than s-club they become pop.
Yes that's right.
Slipknot have a double platinum album, as do Nickelback, therefore they are pop bands. Sure they may have more integrity and musical devotion, but they nonetheless remain pop.
Besides, the pop to which you refer actually funds other bands. If Robbie Williams rakes in a truck load for EMI, then that money gets ploughed back into supporting new bands. Indeed, if it wasn't for people like Robbie, you have to wonder how many fringe bands would have made it to the big time.
What I'm saying is that you shouldn't criticise pop music. You can't. Pop music will inevitably swallow up one of your favourite bands eventually and people will start to hate them for being "sell-outs" or such like. That is what you should get angry about. The people who like music for being obscure rather than for being good. If someone genuinely likes Britney then that's a positive thing. If someone buys a Slipknot album because they think it's a cool thing to like that sucks.
To quote Jawbreaker - a band who got a load of abuse for "selling out" to a major label:
"My enemies are all too familiar
They're the ones who used to call me friend
I'm colouring outside your guidelines
I was passing out when you were passing out your rules"
