We all saw the Southampton game on Saturday, the game where he returned.
And what a difference he made too!!
We were starting to look like our old selves again. :)
You must have noticed it??
How a player can come-back from an injury and give a performance as determined as that I do not know. Everything about his performance on Saturday finally told-me why we payed £19m for this guy, rather than go for a player like Ronaldo or Patrick Kluivert.
He may not have scored a single goal, and we may only have won the match by a superb Forlan strike, but his work-rate and will to help-others was phenomenal! How many times did he charge-inwards from the outside-edge of the box? How deadly were those balls when fired-into the danger area?
That's the kind-of striker out attack's been lacking!
And we need another one too.
Not just to partner him, but also to act as cover for him when he's out injured again.
I fear that if he misses too-many more games we will severely suffer in our chase for the Championship.
He's not JUST about goal, y'know! ;)
Oh, and it was good to see Giggs back too. But he still looks so-slow.
OK maybe slightly. Got too carried away celebrating the Everton Winning steak!!

re-appearance of Keane

From the looks of things Keane wont be fit to play till January. http://www.football365.com(space) /All_News/Premiership_News/story_45994.shtml
He's suspended for the Liverpool game in December anyways, but we really really need him for the Arsenal game.
Alot can happen between now and then, but losing them two games could leave us 10 points+ behind them.
Personally I hope Nardiello starts. He looks to be a class act.
It's great to have Ruud back in the team without him we don't as look sharp upfront, alot of people forget how much work he does for us chasing around for the ball, he didn't score but grafted hard for the ball and linked up well (i.e the first goal) he is creating for others now, all he needs now is some support and if Diego can provide it, that would be great but I still feel we need a support striker to open up defences as it would add that 'difference' upfront as both Teddy and Eric did so well.
The thing we have to look at is that Ruud is our 'presence' and when he aint playing who is the main man upfront? - we don't have the depth in the striking department to cover for him.
I was hoping this was something Fergie would be experimenting with while van Nistelrooy was out-injured - even though Webber's been on-loan at Watford (who are now something like 3rd in Div.1).
Nardiello looked quite impressive in Europe last-week, but he didn't really have enough time to show-us what he can really do. I've seen Webber play before, and I was really impressed when I saw him make his debut against Sunderland and hit the post with a brillaint header! But I haven't seen him play since. And now I fear Fergie will soon flog both of them off like he did with Healy - who has really shown-us what could've been!
I hope Nardiello gets his chance tonight, even though Fergie SAYS he's going to take it seriously this year! :P
The point is that we don't need to buy to bet back-up players, like I said the other day. But I do feel we need a new striker for that European Experience.
I think we'll be a different team next year though. Ferdinand, Butt, Giggs and Brown all fully recovered, and the re-appearance of Keane should give a reality check to the people who have spent the season so far saying "United's empire is crumbling".
We'll see who's crumbling when a full forced Utd team runs wild on the premiership.
