Everywhere in the world as a community ,we have spells of sheer madness over a certain franchise. The world has seen many crazes come and go but will one actually stick.Today it is the Pokemon stuff that are turning heads, given credit it has lasted a long time but is finally dying off,It has grossed loads of money for Nintendo and they have given the public what they want which is more games, look at pokemon gold and silver, they are out soon and you can bet they will sell by the barrel full, who would off thought a photography game would off been good but Nintendo have done it thanks to pikachu and his freinds, the craze is so popular it has got yo-yo's.Other crazes include the teenage mutant ninja turtles which i loved cause they were so cool and wreastling has come back big even though it is american, look at the christmas sales charts, you will see that Smackdown 2 is no.1,not because it is a good game but it has a huge following, even though it is the best wreastling game ever.I reckon the next big thing will be Digimon, very similar to the pokemon thing but a bit more varied.Though it is not as known as pokemon it is slowly gaining ground on the little critters, they are bringing out games on most platforms and sound cool to say the least and deserve to sell well.In this age the crazes dominate society and overun the public so if you cant beat it you might as well join it.

Digimon and Pokemon are hardly distinguishable, to me. However, my nephew (6), knows all their names off by heart, and their numbers as well. Then next big thing to take the world by storm will be the X-Box.

All true. One thing I don't get though - are you suggesting we should all go out and buy Digimon cards because they ripped off Pokemon really well? Isn't lack of originality a bad thing? Not that I've actually seen the cartoon, but it sounds kinda similar to Pokemon.
