There are several types of gamers in the world and most of them have distinguishing features. No this isn't another fan-boy post for all those thinking, "Ok here we go"
Anyway here are a few examples. Ok here we go... :)
1) Newbie (no offence)
This type of gamer is the type of person who just got their first console for his 10th birthday with the "best game" their mum seen. (The flashy looking box basically). They have no previous gaming knowledge except they know that Sonic is blue and that the Gamecube.. is a cube.
Location: Can usually be spotted in your local Game, HMV etc by the games section with their mum saying.. sorry SCREAMING:
"MUM CAN I HAVE THIS ONE I SEED IT ON TELE ITS WELL GOODER THAN OTHER AND THAT ONE AND THAT ONE PLEASE ETC"
The mother usually replies with "No you had a new game yesterday" while thinking oh god why the hell did I buy that machine..
Also sighted at the airport with their eyes glued to the screen of the Gameboy (original that dad got from carboot sale) while being
un-noticeably lost by their parents who haven't noticed little Timmy wonder through GATE 9 and get on the jet on it's way to Japan.
2) Friendship Gamer
This gamer comes in two types:
A) Only buys a console because their friends all have one and/or mentioned how ace the console is.. So this wally goes out and buys it to seem "cool" to his mates no realising the consequences they may be in for
B) The type who only makes friends with the people who have the trendiest console and spends life playing it.
Location: A) Could be found anywhere.. most likely the local Job Centre looking for a job to be able to buy every console their friends say are "cool" or the second hand store trying to trade his Gameboy Colour for an XBOX.
B) At their mates house "playing".
3) The "In-between-er"
This gamer is the sensible one, has a good job and/or is at school and doesn't play games 24/7 but does enjoy the occasional fight on Tekken 4 or a good zombie hunt on Resident Evil. Also doesn't mind the occasional multiplayer with some mates, or going out and having a laugh.. More of the type to tell you that there are more things in life than games.
Location: Depending on its mood, may be studying hard, playing footy with mates or may be getting all stars in Mario 64.
4) The Extremist
This gamer is the person who is unborn with dark skin but has developed it due to the lack of outside-ness. Also has hair the length or a giraffe's neck on body and head. Some times even an extremist may go outside, but never forgets his or her Gameboy of some sort, and is now in the developing stages of a portable console machine that lets them walk while playing Gamecube, XBOX or PS2. Has also been known to do ridiculous things when deprived of games, such as re-create them.
Location: Can be found in numerous places, such as:
Under pile of clothes playing MGS2 in the dark,
Tattoo shop having *I LOVE BILL GATES* tattooed onto their body,
Hairdressers having *NINTY 4EVA* shaved into head
Hospital after jumping off high wall on a skateboard re-creating what appeared to be Tony Hawks Pro Skater, but now looks more like Mike Tyson's Boxing Championship game.
Well there ya have the types of gamers, and where to find them!!
