Hmmm is right, cut and paste I'm afraid. We check for duplicate images and increment the naming on any duplicates found.
It might be possible for use to add a 'Replace this image with another' feature though.

Regarding the certificate warning, we're already aware of it but thanks for bringing it up. You're not at risk accepting the warning it's just the the security certificate used to sign the software has expired.
An update to the applet is due to go into the next round of updates, which should fix this issue.

Hi 'The Gaffer',

I've just tried uploading a different image with the same file name to see if this works. Unfortunately the gallery s/w renames the new image rather than replacing the existing one.

So it looks to me as if you will need to cut/paste your text - but that doesn't really take too long!

NB. for FREEOLA
I used FF for this test and I'm still seeing the Java security alert, I reported yesterday!?
I thought someone would be interested...

I let the application run hoping Freeola wouldn't run anything malicious on my PC!...

Hi
All I want to do is change the photo. If I delete/remove the picture unfortunately it deletes all the text that I have put in! Is there no way of keeping the text and changing the photo?
cheers

I'm too late - but as Eccles says.
From "Site Overview" choose "Edit Gallery Pages" and delete/add as required.

NB. I don't make use of the Gallery - but while I was poking it about a minute a go I received this Java security warning which you may like to look at?:

Rad Upload Plus

The digital signature was generated with a trusted certificate but has expired.

When you go an edit a gallery on your Instant Site there is a delete 'dustbin' icon next to each image, which allows you to remove individual images to your image archive.
You can also use the checkboxes next to each image to select a range of images and the use the 'Remove Selected' button at the bottom of the page. Also at the bottom of the page is a button to 'Upload New Images'.
Alternatively to quickly replace all the images in a gallery simply create a new gallery containing the new images and delete the old gallery or un-publish it using the Page Manager. If you rename the old gallery then you can name the new one to replace your old one.
