If you (like me) cannot afford to get the best of everything put in you new PC, remember this.
A decent graphics card and lots of memory is more important than your hard drive and processor speed. The graphics card processor should be good, and have lots of memory. I run a P2 300Mhz system which is 3 years old, but I have a Matrox G400 with 193Mb of RAM and it beats 600Mhz systems with on-board graphics and 64Mb of RAM.

Yeah, it was actually for a whole new box on my old ID, 1.1ghz athlon hardly cripples it...reasonable card, not as good as I'd hoped
Up to a point - Top of the line Graphics cards are seriously crippled by slow processors - and with a slow system, upgrading the processor gives a more consistent increase in speed than just upgrading the graphics card.
(assuming of course you have a reasonable one in the first place and not some 8meg ati oem board)
