As christmas fast approaches, and the charts for songs and films race for the number one spot with 'the Grinch,' and hmmm, 'westlife......' we can see that a trend is most definitely set. So what about games? 'Dino Crisis 2' is not exactly festive, as with Red alert 2 and others coming out for or just before christmas. And although these are good games, one of my current favourites being red alert 2, would there not be a market for festivity orientated games?

I hate to bring up the old failiur, but I had one , yes, a Saturn. And was pleased with 'Christmas nights,' it was a good idea, original, and did not recieve bad press at all, Plus, it was included free when i bourght the forst 'comand and conquer'.

These ideas seem to have been forgotten, or just plain discarded, Westwood would have been even more in my good books had they included a little extra festive something giftwrapped with red alert 2. Rather than celebrating christmas trying to kill people on our screens, I would like at least some light relief, friendly and warm.

thanks for reading,
Greg.

You are right Sheep, good point. however- nights ,the christmas one had a date recognition system built in, so you could play it all year round, and well, if a game is successful at christmas, then it doesnt really have to be successful as much after, christmas is the biggest selling time for games the year round.

Queens speech, hehe.

I spoke to Westwood Studios on your behalf, Greg, and they've decided to release "Queen's Speech: The Word" on all formats just in time for Christmas.

The problem with christmas games is that games take years to make with dodgy realise dates so they would not come out in the festive season.

Also people would only buy them at Christmas in the first place.
