Ya. I know its the stereotyped teenage thing, but I wouldn't mind playing the guitar.

But I have no (seriously) idea of where to start.

Any help?

The best guitar to start with is probably a squire strat. I don't have one, but 4 of my mates do, and they seem like pretty good guitars. Nothing like a real strat though!

Hmmm. not really. Do you think SR would provide us with a font where each character is the same size? That way we could write tab and chords and stuff!

Does this thing let you write chords and tab?

Acoustic's are great, you can just pick them up and play them whenever you like. That's why my acoustic more because I can just play it whilst I am on the PC and have it any volume I like and not have to worry about wires getting in the way etc.

But you will most probably want the electric guitar sound.

We also have this Classical guitar in our Music Tech room and it's got Nylon strings which means it won't hurt your fingers as much when you first play. Doesn't have as good a sound either. Plus you want to toughen up your fingers as early as possible.

So yeah, I say Acoustic if you are not really eager to have distortion. I rushed out and got an Acoustic then a few months later went and got myself an Electric because I wanted to make a different sound even though I was pretty rubbish.

Go to your local Guitar selling emporium - tell them what you want to do and let them flog a nice cheap beginners guitar / amp (or just guitar if you go dwon the acoustic route).

Get a begginers book and away you go..

Dont go for one of them cheap Argos things cos the guitar probably wont stay in tune and you need to be totally precise with your fingering to stop buzzing which doesn't help beginners at all.

Continue this excellent work...
Brilliant! As usual the careful and intuitive production that Freeola puts into everything it sets out to do, I am delighted.
Wonderful...
... and so easy-to-use even for a technophobe like me. I had my website up in a couple of hours. Thank you.
