Life.

At 14 I have just started wondering about my life in the future. What is life? How do we make life better for ourselves? Thinking about my situation in 3 years when I am looking for a job etc, I started to feel pretty depressed. First off, I will never see most of my friends again, I know you have to accept it, but I spend every day with my mates and at my age it is hard to understand that I will never see them again. At my age I am usually pretty care free and just mess around etc, but accepting what life will be like for me in 5 years hurts my head. (:)

But more importantly to the older people of the forum. How do you find entertainment in your life? Computer games sure, but are you happy with your jobs and how do you get through it every day? My ambition is to get an A* in English in GCSE and A-level or whatever and get a job at a magazine preferably computer games. The reality of it is I will probvably get a C and end up at a dodgy local newspaper branch.

So how do you get through life with as much entertainment and variety and happiness as possible? Go on holidays, meet up with mates at the pub?

When everyone was at my age, have things gone to plan? Is your life good? Are you happy?

Sorry to be a downer and to spring so many questions but I am so curious to see if other peoples lives have gone according to slight plan and whether you are getting all you can out of life too.

Cheers

Taking your lead and using a bit of cynicism!

And I pee in my garden too. Just make sure the old dear next door isn't looking first.

Oh yeah

Your question ..

Older than Goatboy

Play computer / console games, Play guitar and sing, go on holidays twice a year plus weekends away when we can, play football with mates, play golf with male in laws, go out once a week with the missus ( At last we have a regular baby sitter !) That sort of stuff.

Life doesn't stop when you become and old crusty you know !

Er...what age does this start? Last night I played Hitman 2 until 1am, then watched The Office and peed in the garden rather than walk to the loo.

You're far too young to start getting worried about where your life is going at the mo.

You need to run with it and see where things go for a while. You can have all these plans and dreams and then - bang - This woman comes into your life, you get that job etc. Your ideas change, suddenly you want different things. Rumpy Pumpy becomes more important than Metal Gear Solid, sherberts with the work mates are more important than multiplayer Timesplitters 2. All your old mates are going the same way - some you will see but not many.

Along come the car, the house, the mortgage, the kids, the pay rises, the holidays, the dinner parties etc. All different to what you expected but all still enjoyable in their own different ways.

There isn't much that you can predict about what will happen - I certainly couldn't have predicted alot of what has happened in my life - but I am damn well enjoying it all - At the end of the day you just need to make sure you have fun and enjoy what you do along the way. You don't want to look back and think - but I didn't do this or that or whatever.

Crikeys - turned into a bit of an old farts lecture - sorry about that...

29.

My job is alright, it's not a career but somewhere to go during the day that gives me money.
As for fun? I play video-games, watch movies, see my mates, write, play in a band and try to get some as often as possible.

The only difference between being 29 and being 19 is I'm allowed to get away with a lot more being "an adult", I have more money than I did and women get a lot finer once they get past 25.
More interesting, less inhibited and no retarded conversations about trivial stuff.
Unless they're stupid, but I have the internet for brain stuff.

Excellent

I'm 21, and in my finaly year at uni.

There's no point in making a big plan, years ahead, because the chances are you won't stick to it. Something will happen which will change your circumstances completely.

Having said that, it's good to have some sort of rough idea what you want to do. I.e After GCSE's do you want to do A-levels? After those do you want to do a degree or go straight out and get a job.

So have a rough idea, but don't worry about planning stuff too much, as you just don't know what can happen.

As for not seeing your friends again, that's a bit harsh. Sure, I don't see my friends from home that much, as I'm away at uni. But I have friends up here instead. And I get to see everyone back home in the holidays and stuff.

Just relax and enjoy life, there's enough to worry about as you get older - don't start now! :-)

I'm 15 and I don't have that many friends that live near me so they hardly come round and vis versa. I just stay at home and watch Tv go on these forums or just play Mazza Sunshine or Starfox Adventures (when it comes out) on my gamecube. I hope to get mostly c's and maybe a few B's, I hope to work at Focus for Work experience and that will start me on my journey for a life of working in a company.
