Okay, I got a Windows ME CD for the other PC. Now, cos I've had two different versions of ME, I have the wrong disc from the code provided. But, it is genuine, so, all I needis for you to help me in telling me if I can legally gain access to another code.

But you can only use on serial code for each disc. Basically, do I have to buy a third copy of ME or can I get a new code for free by phoning Microsoft? Also, is there a UK Microsoft Support Line?
All COdes will work with eachother on ME but by law you will need 2 codes, either phone microsoft and purchase a license for the second disk or install it useing the other code, won't make any differance as you do still own a locense and im sure microsoft won't be to bothered as you are not a company or anything.

I can't find the other ME. All that's happened is the two CD cases have been mixed up, so the wrong CD has the wrong code. When we moved, the other version of ME got lost. I have installed both versions of ME before (don't ask why I have two copies).

you can't use another serial, it then becomes illegal..or not your copy.
Phone or email Microsoft..someone..anyone and ask them for a new code :D scan the receipt or something, definatly worth trying.
Although, if you can't be bothered, use the serial from your other ME version and use that, it's already your copy and no one will care :)
