It really is a cool film. Your Arnie's have machine guns and loud music, but this film just uses silenced pistols and some cool camera movement to make it seem cool. It has class. But I was worried at the point of "*gasp!* It's Ghost Dog!*cue heart attack*", not sure if it was comedy or bad acting. Meh, still entertainment.
Go see/what did you think?/ it wasn't that bad!s. Yes.s.
Jarmush rules although I have only seen two of his films.
Mystery Train Rules.
Tom Waits rules.
conclusion : 6/10
(take as you will)
I thought the film was alright. It spent more time on the cod side of philosophy and got a bit silly towards the end (did he really have to top some bear hunters?) Jim Jarmusch is a good director, but in this instance I think he ballsed up a little.
If you want to see a top film combining hip-hop and Japanese culture watch Beat Takeshi's "Brother". It's a much, much better film.
