I've just been reading quite a few for games such as Super Mario Sunshine, Turok Evolution and Burnout 2, and on the whole, I found the ratings to be a bit on the generous side.

For example, one review indicated (I won't name names) that the graphics were terrible, the controls were awkward and flying sections poor in Turok Evolution; and then went on to give an 8! In my opinion, an 8 is there for an excellent game, such as Burnout 2. I know different people have different opinions on games, but surely you can give a more accurate score to accompany your review? It confuses people (like me) when they see Turok Evoultion has an average score of 83%, when the words of the reviews say something substantially lower.

Maybe that's why there are usually high scores for most games, becasue people forget to change the rating.

In which case, if they've made the effort to write the review up, then surely they can change a number from a drop down list?

Well, I only get good games, so I usually give good marks for the same reason. Unlike magazines, I won't be involved in buying and reviewing any old game, largely due to insufficient funds. ;)

What I hate is when I accidently click on post review and forget to change the mark, does anyone else do that?

Anyone?

Ok, maybe it's just me then...

Sorry about this, its a bit off topic I know, but, does anyone know if there is a Jedi Outcast Data disk on the cards? ... It would seem a natural progression, though since they are relasing (have released?) the game on consoles, they may decide not to?

I like giving 10's and 9's, because to be honest I really enjoy lots of games. I've given MGS, MGS2, GT3, Deus Ex and Jedi Outcast 10's among others, just because I couldn't find any big faults in them. Maybe I'm too generous, but I'll be harsh on a game when I need to be (check my In Cold Blood one.)

The reviewers are kinda biased with scores because sometimes they've just shelled out £35 for a naff game, so have to justify their expenditure by giving it a higher score than usual to lessen the psychological damage done to their bank balances.
