Once again terrorists have proven that they can strike anywhere, any place, any time. Whilst it's not yet confirmed who committe the atrocities in Bali, it is clear that it is the work of terrorists - and they will more than likely be linked to Al Queda.

Australia, Britain, China, France, Germany, America and a host of other countries have all lost citizens. Hundreds are wounded, over 200 are still missing as of this moment.

Terrorism has once again struck where people thought they were safe. No where is safe. One aim was to kill - a obmb inside the club to get people out, another outside to go off to catch many who survived the first bomb. This is appaling and indefensible, and it is why the war on terrorism must continue above the protests it faces from many groups.

Did anyone anyone negotitate with those people who are now dead ? Bargain with them ? No. Don't expect the terrorists to be treated any differently. Violence is all they understand, and that's fine.

Some say the impulse to hit back comes from anger - a human desire to extract suffering from those who have given it. In the war against terrorism hitting back is the only response these groups who seek to destroy freedom understand.

Those who did this WILL be found, America, the UK and Australia already have teams the flew in yesterday to assist, Australian leader John Howard is already promising that Australia will not let this go unpunished. Eventually the people who did this will face justice, whether it be a bullet, bomb or a court.

Once again, it has taken the death of so many to remind us all that the war on terrorism still exists, it did not end with defeat of the Taliban, it's not just about Afghanistan, or Iraq, or whereever, it's everywhere. A new war, but a different war, fought in shadows and where the frontlines are no longer distant places we've never been to or heard of.

Lets hope that those who survived can recover, and that the families of those who died can find some hope and comfort somewhere...I don't know where that's going to come from right now.
