Right I was at a mates house earlier and we sat down to watch the end of that awful Anaconda film. I just said, I wanna see "The Monster from the Black Lagoon" as I hadn't seen it in years.

My mate then went on to describe the following film thinking it was the Monster from the Black Lagoon. It's not, but it's another film I've been trying to work out the name of for YEARS! I've just never met anyone before who's actually seen the film.

k, here's about as much as we could remember about the film :-

It's set around this quarry which is filled with water. It stars a group of kids and they think some monster lives in the water. What the monster turns out to be is a huge crane thing.
The film was out a similar time as the Goonies.
What on earth is this film called???

It's bugged me for years, and now I'm determined to find out what it is!

I know that's not a very big description, but it's all we can come up with at the mo. We could draw a pic of the crane as it was quite distinctive. We might do that and then go ask in proper movie forums n stuff.

I vaguely remember this.

Didn't they keep going on about the 'Donkengine' or something?

Years since I saw it.

Was it Australian?

Ahhh, I remember that film! There was an old dude who lived in a shack by the lake, but he died of a heart attack when he saw the monster/crane thing! Can't remember what it was called though. "Joey & The Crane Monster"?

I vaguely remember that film, though I don't remember the name.
I shall ask my older bro (who always remember that type of obscure stuff) and we'll try to come up with the title.

That sort of thing happens to me occasionaly, you remember an old/obscure film/tv show and you just HAVE to remember its name :)

If I knew just one actor in the film, I could find out.
