Well, we now have PS2, N64, Dreamcast, X-Box, Indrema, Gamecube and god knows what else now coming out, but what is you most favourite console of ALL time?

For me it would have to go back into the realms of nostalgia- the NES. Everybodys probably going why when there are consoles with better and more realistic games, but when I look back, the most fun I did tend to have was with my trusty old NES that never failed me, not once. They had so many playable games, Manic Mansion, the Mario Games, The Legend of Zelda. It was the birthplace of the great gaming series- Final Fantasy, Zelda, Mario not to name a few. I was truely hartbroken when I part excahanged my NES for Populous and Castlevania on the SNES, and I regret doing it now. It was a truely original console, and had so many original games, unlike today when sequels and multi million dollar games like Shenmue are being made. I may be a grandad in playing games, but I would like to see a return to our roots in games to make them more playable, thats what games are supposed to be made for, not to look like movies all the time. It would allow lesser known developers to have a chance too. Thats what the future should be. Sheep and Fantavision are a definite system and I believe that a truely great system has a WIDE variety of games to back it up along with good hardware, it doesnt seem to be really happening with driving game after driving game, Tomb Raider after Tomb Raider and so on being released like a conveyor belt. Thats what made the NES so good... it was original.

My favourite console of all time is definetely the PSX. I am not one for spouting on and on about stats, (though i will talk the hind legs off a donkey about ANYTHING, given half the chance) and it was not the stats that tugged me towards the PSX. Firstly, it was the advertising. I am the first to admit that it didn't exactly take much thought, 4 coloured symbols on a black background, but with hind sight, it was pure genius. It gave off an air of mystery, made me think "what exactly can this machine do?". Then when i saw it, this smallish grey box, it looked so ordinary, so.......boring. But it was too late, i was already hooked.

Although i bought a few games for my new console, the one that sticks in my mind, the one that turned me into a hardened PSX follower, was the original Tekken. When i first played it, it felt like having my own amusement arcade in my house, never before outside of an arcade had i seen such a game. I could not even remember playing anything close on my Mega Drive, though i was a real Sonic fan, and still am.

So there you have it, my PSX era in writing. I could go on all night, but i think i have bored you all enough.

Thanks for reading.

For me it's the PSX. The reasons are self evident so I won't list them.
