An abstract title, but a worthy one for Quantum Redshift, which I picked up earlier.

Boy oh boy, this has to be the fastest racer ever. Probably.

After much debating over getting this and Hitman 2, I decided I wanted some furturistic racing, and QR hasn't dissipointed though it was looking shakey for a stage.

I had to actually look for the game in the shop bacause the game cover is very missable. The cover art is crap basically. And when I first put the game in I watched the rather inispiring video at the start and I started thinking "oh dear, this looks duff".

From the start scren I jumped straight into Amatur mode, thinking my Wipeout days gone by would mke me already good enough to skip the novice difficulty cup. Oh how wrong was I.

I randomly picked some guy and watched the frankly hillarious taunting between him and some other racer. It's so cheesy.

Into the game then, and it looks like wipeout. Except this is Wipeouts much prettier looking sister. QR has model good looks. The first course really impresses, the rain drop splash on the camra, leading to some loverly effects. And yes the speeds, even in amataur mode, is blinding.
So fast in fact I was saying "Gah, can't see the bends too well, dam i'm last, This is confuing, theres too much going on Who shot me? Ohh this is pretty but i'm getting my but kicked."

And kicked it was. I came last.

I tried again on the Novice difficulty setting, like I should have done from the start and instantly the game was really enjoyable, fast enough, enough excitement, brilliant racing. Great music that thumps along too.

The short difficulty curve was all I needed to grasp and I was in. An hour later I had completed two cups with one character and I was pleased to find this game has planty of depth. The tricky air brake, the various ways the boost can be used in different situations, the shortcuts, the racing lines favouring attacking our defencive players, mastering the sheer speed of your craft...This game, for a futurisitc racer, is quite strategic.

I just unlocked the expert mode, where the top speed is raised again and the races get longer, more numerous and AI tougher. Also watched a video of Blinx in the demo section-looks great and briefly played NFL, not having the slighest clue what the hell was going on. I was just getting settled into my but grove when my older brother came in and kicked me out. Dam TV, theres nothin on anyway.

So Quantum Redshift, an elite game IMO for sure and one which again is ANOTHER game to consider. Better than Wipeout? Well, yes. So far, I love it.

PS Its my Birthday today (whoohoo, the big 16) :P

I've unlocked the Dracos track. Still gotta find out what the other one is - probably by unlocking the last character.

If you look in Quick race mode there are 2 extra tracks to be unlocked. On completion of master and redshift leagues I think.

Some of the reversed tracks are interesting too.

Savatt wrote God my eyes, my eyes !

In on master mode with a few characters too. Approching warp speed. Redshift mode wil be unbelieveable.

Don't have a favourite character yet bacause their personality are so stupid and cheesy I don't care to much about them. All I wanna do is race so fast it rips your skin off.

I do like the Wastelands circuit though, the one where it rains and the watter effects over the camera-you know the one. I like the music on that track too.

For the record, all the levels are extremely well designed. Play QR and you'll know what i'm on about.

Happy birthday Mantis. ;-)

I picked the game up on Friday - excellent title. Bloody frustrating on Master difficulty though !
Earned the rival characters, now I have 6 of them to finish expert mde with then they'll all be ready for master mode.
Any favourite racers yet ? I like using Jaya and Marcus a lot. The storylines are pretty cheesy. ;-))

Definatly faster than Wipeout and F-Zero.

Yeah, i looked at that title the other day when i was debating between it and hitman2, i chose hitman2 because it looked classy, and also i saw an advert on the side of the chelsea game at VK viking. lol i dunno why that billboard made me wanna buy it. maybe it didnt. Maybe it was because ive always wanted to play the first game, but because of my horribly poor computer i was unable to. Everyone was always going on about how good it was and all that. So i thought i would get the sequel to compinsate. I was not dissapointed. The game is absolutely amazing. I dont know how far in i am. Probably about the 5th or 6th mission, but what ive seen of it so far i cant get enough of it. Its only down to my god damn xbox that i am not playing it now. For nearly all of my games, loading seems to crash after the xbox has been on for a few hours. I think becuase its overheating or summin. But i jst have to turn it off for an hour and it works fine after that.

I was willing to try Quantum redshift, but i was having some doubts on the super-speedy racing game genre. After playing f-zero and wipeout, there's only soo much fun that can come of zooming round a course at 980 mph can produce. I might have to abuse the GAME 10 day no fuss return policy again.

OOHH GAME, where would we be with out you.....?

.... probably 20 quid better off than if we were to buy at an inderpendant games retailer. GGRRRR

LOL, great catchy title Mantis ;)

Happy Birthday mate, I too am 16 next week so we wil be the oldest people on SR ;)

I am thinking about getting this game but I will probably just go with a rental for now as I am a bit short for money and there are 6 other Xbox games out at the moment that I want.

Hitman 2 is brilliant according to a couple of my mates and I loved the first one! After reading reviews of Blinx I am going to add it to my list some where near the middle.

Once again Happy Birthday and I hope you get all the action men you have ever wanted ;)
