1) He looks like he's had a gay kiss
2) He's fat
So, er, which of those two would stop him from staring in films? If it's the first one (based only on one picture at the time of writing) then they forget that this is acting and your own life outside the film world is not what you portray in the films.
If it is the second then, yeah, it may cause a few problems depending on the role he was going for (but then if Jack Black can manage...)
I guess the question is; is Hollywood that bothered?
It's more likely that the Scientology element of his lifestyle would affect his career, especially if he decided on another movie project based around that (Battlefield Earth, anyone?). But there does seem to be a correlation between actors joining the 'religion' and weird behaviour/unacceptance from the film industry.
Besides, his career has had so many ups and downs anyway, I don't think it really matters any more.
I knew about Tom Cruise and all that, but... I can't see why people would want to follow some crazy new religion that believes the kind of tripe that Scientologists do... I guess you could apply that equally to many other, more established, religions, but at least they don't require you to give thousands of dollars just to learn what you're supposed to believe in...
Ive liked him over the years in most of his films.
