is it just me or is it that in years of late horrors films seem to be low on the agenda of hollywood film producers thrillers seem to have taken over and when we look back to a time when hits like 'pet semetary','friday the 13th' and the 'halloween' series where released at similar times.so maybe its me but maybe there is no room anymore for a good scary film (with the ecceptions of scream series, i know what you did last summer and a few more i have skimmed over)

Watch Asian Horror, there's some superb stuff coming out of Asia these days. American Horror is repetetive garbage, none of the American movie studios have the balls to even think about doing anything new.
Failing that check out some Troma films, independent films, some Horror, all hillariously gory and bad taste.

I don't think there have been any decent horror movies for a while now, there all just predictible slasher films, or supposed horror movies with little gore and stupid looking CGI effects. The only films which do tend to scare these days are psycalogical thriller/horror films, which are all well and good, but are a little bit slow.
The odd thing I find about horror films nowadays is that most of them aren't as scary or even as spooky as horror games. The Resi film for example had none of the tension or atmosphere the game it was based on has. The film wasn't even as gory as the game, and had craper zombie effects.
