A world without gaming would be both a sad one and… Yes that's right a very sad world. No Mario, No Sonic, no Sega Dreamcast or Nintendo GameCube to wake up to in a morning. Before everyone thinks I am starting a hoax about the gaming world ending then get this straight... This isn't a hoax it's really ending! Ok now I have got everyone's attention I will take a look at what we won't... I mean will miss out on.

What would your bedroom look like without the glow of a purple GameCube or the glow in the dark DVD remote for your Xbox? I would imagine for a lot of you (especially the male sector of the SR staff without their Lara Croft photos :) that your rooms just wouldn't look or feel right without the collection of games lying around on the floor and posters hanging crooked over your wardrobes. I know for some of you gaming is just the icing on the entertainment cake, but for the majority of the gaming public it isn't just about putting a CD/DVD Rom in the drive. Before buying a game I guess you read reviews and look into the game in terms of gameplay, graphics etc and this in turn takes up time out of your life which you would otherwise spend Ironing or baking. Graham Norton would once again rule the world... or not...

I suppose not having to play some of the 'less able games on the market' (derived in a kind way to mean ) would be quite a positive notation of a world without gaming, especially with the likes of Will we ever get bored of games? At the moment I am in a trance over Buffy... I mean the game for all you dirty minded people. So far I have played the game for 4 hours (roughly about half way through the game) and I have to say it is one of the most entertaining games that I have ever played. The fighting flows well, the graphics are good (not great but very good) and the cheesy voice bites from Buffy and the gang are really quite entertaining. *Ends promotion line for Buffy the Vampire Slayer on the Xbox which is a must own title*

Without boring you too much what effects would it have on the economy? Would shops look different without the Sony advertisements enticing people to pick up a PS2 at a now very reasonable price? The internet promotes gaming in a very big way and it is a way for gamers to interact over secure connections and buy games at cheaper prices, yet without online PC multi-players or the ability to order a game and have it delivered direct to your door would the internet exist? Before you ask yourself those questions consider the effects gaming has on both your everyday lives and the world economy on the whole.

Bill Gates (the greedy man from Microsoft for those who have been in a cupboard for 15 years) is one of the biggest pioneers the business world will ever see and with the profits of £58 Billion the company made last year what would happen to shares and investments around the world? Computers wouldn't have had the same effect on the way we live without gaming, but you would also have to consider a world without cheese... Bah what am I talking about! Looking at it now I would even consider whether or not computers would even exist. A world without SR *Dabs cheek with Hanky* Oh the joys... I mean what would I do?

I will spoil it now for the 'PTA' moms reading this and tell you that yes gaming will live on forever and yes Mortal Kombat Dark Alliance will be released on multi-format :) Aside from ruining their worlds of Knitting and Tea Parties (of course Mario Tea parties are acceptable :) what would you do in your spare time without replying to 'moi Je m' Appelle Garbe123?' (Check the French I think you will find it is all present and correct ;) On a Saturday night when a few of 'The lads'(excuse the typical Yorkshire term) come around with a truck... I mean a crate full of your favourite party water and want to play on Halo or Super Smash Brothers but only then do you realise there isn't a purple bundle of joy or the beastly eye of the Xbox symbol in the corner. What do you do then? I suspect you would put a film on and drink the anyway, but the tradition would be ruined and the more than typical British culture would be damaged severely and forever (take note Mr. Blair).

No Lara Croft, No Master Chief and Mario back in Princess Peach... I mean her house her house. The world would be no-more and life as we know it would be a sad one indeed. Life would just become an existence and the joys of beating your friend around the head without his mom calling the police would be brought to an abrupt end. As a group of gospel singers would say, *Puts on Deep African voice* 'Let's join together now and celebrate gaming as we know it! Clap your hands! Yes that's right Savatt keep singing ma boy! Come on Schroeder get that voice box booming and you vocal chords... erm... Ye booming!' May gaming live on forever and let SR live on for even longer.

Freeola & GetDotted are rated 5 Stars

Check out some of our customer reviews below:

The coolest ISP ever!
In my opinion, the ISP is the best I have ever used. They guarantee 'first time connection - everytime', which they have never let me down on.
10/10
Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
