The "General Games Chat" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
MSN, Yahoo, AOL all have messengers and are used through out the world and are very popular. Now the chat forums are becoming spammed more and more everyday because people want to have a conversation about what THEY want. A simple topic like.. PS2's new game.. turns into a battle of who's got the highest score or what everyone is doin on friday night. So basically SR needs to create a kind of chat room so that people can chat freely like Yahoo chat etc.
Even a type of messenger would give to memebers of SR a chance to talk freely about what they like, when they like.. not likly to happen but a good idea none to less
I think a lot of the problem is partly that people log on and chat at different times, also that people are less inclined to commit themselves to a conversation than they are to responding to an idea from someone they don't know (and who may from then on not stop bugging you)
As far as I can gather, the 'unofficial' SR chat comes via MSN, every so often a forum user starts a topic where people throw their MSN addys into the hat to be picked up... other than that its expansion by relation, chat to one memeber, who gives you the addy or another, etc...
