OK, one of the most infuriating things you can do is accidentally press the wrong macro button at the wrong time on a spreadsheet, screwing everything up. Of course, custom macros don't get added to the action history, and so you can't just press "undo" or "CTRL+Z" to get rid of the enormous blunder you just made.

But...

Surely there must be a way to do this? Surely there is a way to add a line or two at the bottom of a macro that tells it to record a history of the action, so that you can undo it again?

Anyone know a way of doing this? It would save me hours!!!

Been too busy to look into this but I'll give you a tip that we give to all our users.

Save your work before running macros, that way if you do something wrong you can step back to it straight away. Obvious really, plus save often and you don't lose loads of work. :D

No consolation I know but bear it in mind for the future.

Heh, doubling the number of macros in my book hardly sounds ideal. I thought about using the "application.undo" as a macro on it's own, but it doesn't work on visual basic commands, something excel help helpfully told me after I'd already figured it out...

You could always write the macro in reverse :D or even easier, don't press the wrong macro at the wrong time.

I'll do some checking for you.
