This isn't about the X-Box, but I thought I'd share my little first day at work with you all in here.
I started a new job today so I was up early and ready to get going. I got to the place and met the blokes there - seem like a decent lot to work with. :-)

My new supervisor then took me up to the training room and informed me I had to watch a safety video. I sat down and started watching and Trevor (supervisor) said "I'll be back in like 25 mins when the vid is over, just take in as much as you can and I'll get you a little questionaire to fill out".

With about 5 minutes to go on the vid, I started to feel a little dizzy. Within a minute, I was feeling VERY dizzy. I started to feel sick (but not to the point where I was actually gonna throw up), I started to really sweat and my fingers started to tingle.
The only way I could keep myself conscious was to lean forward in my chair. My body was urging me to lay down but there was no way I was gonna have Trevor find me sprawled out on the floor. So I stayed on the chair feeling very worried about what was happening.

Trevor came back in and when he saw me, was pretty worried - he rushed down to get the medic who came back up with him, opened the windows and told me to relax while making sure I stayed conscious.
I felt so embarressed but it was nice that everyone was so understanding and stuff. I was worried I'd just blown my chance of working for the place more than that I was feeling like a bag of shat.

I was so bad that they called the emergency services and a paramedic arrived. My sugar level was fine but my pulse was pretty bad - around 50 (normal is around 90). After like 20 minutes I was ok, but the paramedic decided to play safe and take me to the hospital.

Turns out that it was probably down to not enough sleep and not eating breakfast (I never eat breakfast - always rushing out the door). Basically my head went crappy cause there wasn't enough oxygen going to it, my body reacted by pumping blood to my vital organs which is why I felt sick and stuff.

Anyway, I got a call from the place asking if I was ok. Trevor is off on a training course thing tomorrow so they've told me that they want me back on monday. :-)
I was really chuffed cause I really thought I wouldn't be back there. So overall, what a great first impression to make at a new job. Oh well, no doubt I'll be the most well known new starter ever in the place. ;-))

Looks like a few of you have had this nasty experience then. ;-) I had this happen to me when I was like 13. Apparently my Dad suffered from this too around my age but grew out of them. Hope its not going to be a thing I go through too many times - definatly a moment I don't wanna go through again. :-|

Oh well, back to normal now - at least it wasn't epilepsy. If it had been I might as well slash my wrists and die cause I couldn't live without my games. ;-))

Urgh.

Something like that happened to me on "Work Experiance" I was working at a computer shop, Building computers, repairing computers, serving customers ect ect.

On the friday, the people that work there always order like a "breakfast" meal from the local cob shop, I decided to order a nice bacon, egg, sausage cob for my breakfast. After eating it I started to get a headache, i just ignored the headache and carried on finishing building this blokes computer....

Come lunchtime I was feeling REALLY ill, i did'nt eat anything, just drank loads of water. The hot weather was'nt much help either... I came back to the shop and I was sweating like a pig! The headache was turning into a migraine and I felt really sick.

I asked the accountancy woman if she had any ibrofen, she gave me to, I hoped that'd ease the headache. I could'nt do any of the work they had set me and I just kept trying to hide in the bathroom. Eventually I decided to ask karen (the accountancy woman) that I was feeling too bad to carry on working. None of the team I was working with cared (as i was'nt getting payed anything, just getting the exp. of work) if I went home so i caught a bus and just went home and slept.

Good to see your feeling better Sav :P

Thanks Dave. ;-)

As for what the warehouse stocks - unfortunatly its not consoles. Its basically a depot for more industrial stuff like oil drums, etc.

something "kinda" simular happened to me. when i had my first PT paid job. i was training up and i had my staff key in this thing and pressing some buttons and my vision went so bright and i started to feel dizzy and a bit sick. i managed to get the key out and then i power-walked to the staff bathroom. i wasn't sick. it just took my a couple of minutes to calm down back to normal. then i was fine ;-)

p.s.- good luck with the job, man :-)

Whitestripes - working at a warehouse/depot. Earning around £5.50 an hour. It'll do to pay for the games and ticket to the States. ;-)

Have to admit, I was pretty scared at first cause every few seconds, it seemed something new was happening and I didn't know what could come after you know ?
Think I've been playing Madden a little too much when I should be sleeping. ;-)

The sweating was pretty bad - it started under my shirt and shortly after I had it dripping down my forehead. I don't think I've ever struggled so much to get my jumper off. Nasty experience.

Nah I wouldn't bother, I only have 5 hours sleep and no breakfast too, and I'm fine.

I just have to drink a lot of water if I do any sports or I'll collapse :)

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
Impressive control panel
I have to say that I'm impressed with the features available having logged on... Loads of info - excellent.
