We all know by now that rare are 'leaving' nintendo to move onto a greater partnership with microsoft.So in november the 11th we will see the finall game to come from rare before they enter the xbox fray.
Rares first major game was in 1997 whith james bonds goldeneye this was a truly fantastic game at the time and still rivals top games in the eyes of many.This game was perhaps the first to really do justice to the film of witch it was spawn to.Following the ever-dramatic adventures of 007 it has all the acton,violence and whitty lines that the hollywood blockbuster its-self has.Although my n64 is now deceased (R.I.P) i can remember one of the initial levels where you're in a small vent and you silently shoot an ususpecting guard who is on the loo apparently 'dropping the kids of at the pool'.From this moment of pure espionage action you realise you are playing a awesome game.
And so rare was acknowledged by other major companys but not yet as one of the best enter perfect dark.
May 2000 the hype has finally come to a climax it is, at last here 'Perfect dark' the critically aclaimed 'sequel' to goldeneye.This time following the life/'adventures' of joanna 'perfect' dark with more advanced A.I of whom actually identify wether you are freind or foe.So after 3 years n64 owners finally have a good reason to put down there already worn copys of goleneye.With the addition of an expansion pack giving perfect dark far superior texture enhancements it was surely rares best game yet.
Although Perfect dark was rares best game (in my opinion others oviously will differ) they had other massive hits such as donkey kong - (another game in the great arcade veterains series although this time with an annoying rap and great 3d graphics) and Jet Force Gemini (another brilliant game following three heroes juno vela and there cute little puppy lupus and there quest to save the world and destroy lotsa' bugs)
So on to gamecube and rares first and last game starfox adventures following the adventures of fox mccloud fighing agains the dinosaurs.Although i myself have not yet played this game my net door neibour got it just a few days ago on import and it is reputedly another truely awesome game from rare with real time hair movement on fox's tail and fur (so u can see it sway in the wind as you run away from the big t.rex).
But all good things have to come to an end and this is just the beginning of a bigger and better partnership with microsoft.
