From what I have seen from the PS2, my mind is very firmly set on believing the Dreamcast is better....(at the moment anyway) As any DC fan would know, the game that will put shockwaves through the gaming industry is coming out on the 1st of November, SHEN MUE. Games like this makes me smile, and justifys to myself why I spent £200 on a little white box. Is there any game out on Launch that has had a huge impact on gamers for the PS2. I have come to the conclusion, like many in here, the PS" Launch is shoddy!

Still making the mistake of comparing a year-old-plus machine with a just-launched.

The same can also be said of the Dreamcast launch, though. And at a similar time into the life of PS2 - if not sooner - there will be MGS2, which most people believe will be the machines first truly 'defining' game.
Yes, it's in the future, but so was Shenmue at the DC launch!
I agree in principle with what Navy Dave is saying - but certain facts are being conveniently overlooked to make the argument, so it's essentially not a valid argument.
There's no denying that - at the moment - the Dreamcast has a better selection of titles, and more AAA titles. But Dreamcast owners have had to wait for it to get to that situation, just like PS2 owners have to do now.
