So Nintendo are already trying to show us that they don't need Rareware for making Nintendo's own franchises? Well that's what it seems like with their announcement of a new Donkey Kong game, with the project name Donkey Kong Next. So what kind of game is this going to be? Racing? Platform? No one knows yet. so here are some ideas with some possible titles:

Donkey Kong's Cavern

You all know about the secret war going on between the Apes and the Chimps right? Well, Chimpanzees have raided Donkey Kong's Cavern, and it's his job to get rid of them using the Chimpmeister 3002 (with the Dyson patents ofcourse). He'll have to solve puzzles on the way around his own Cavern, but that's to be expected in a game of this nature.

Donkey Kong and the Planet of the Humans

Donkey Kong has fallen asleep for 453 years and has suddenly awoken on a planet ruled by humans. As the player, you'll have to control Donkey Kong through strangely familiar locations RPG style, trying to figure out what's going on. Can Donkey Kong solve the myteries of this mysterious mystery of a planet? Can Donkey Kong figure out how he got to this strange world? That's all up to you.

Donkey Kong's Fasion Journey! (also, a different coloured version named Donkey Kong's Bad Fur Day)

More of a girly title, Donkey Kong gets to try out new gear, change his clothes, style his fur, it's all up to you! Bonus games involve trips to the mall, the Hairdrier challenge and even the Curlers Conundrum!

Donkey Kong's Quest

Play as Donkey Kong in a game based on his first ever appearance! Now it's your turn to capture girls, run up high towers and escape the evil reach of a carpenter, plumber and all round entertainer Super Mario. Now it's your turn to throw them barrels, and what a barrel load of fun that is! Watch out for those tranquilisers and police helicoptors, and don't drop the girl whilst on top of the Empire State Building whatever you do!

Donkey Kong Grand Prix

Based on the original Donkey Kong Racing, cancelled after Nintendo sold their share of Rareware, Nintendo may want to show us that they can keep up the good work even without Rare. So now you can ride them Expresso Ostriches, gallop through jungles on the back of Rambi the Rhino, and sing Hakuna Mattata with Timon and Pumba (well Nintendo do have a history with Disney). Race in many different cups, Banana, Banana Bunch and Passionfruit, and try to win the Golden Banana!

Donkey Kong Country Allstars + Donkey Kong 64

Whyever not? Nintendo did the same with Super Mario Allstars and Super Mario World, so why not port the other games to the newer system? Sega are doing it with the Sonic Mega Collection. So why not play the Donkey Kong series in all it's glory on the GameCube?

Those are some ideas by me, and they're probably never going to happen - which could be a good thing. So what do you think the Donkey Kong series will start off with in it's GameCube outing?

Well I'm a bit of a Donkey Kong fan, even if everyone else isn't.

Funny idea there with the Planet of the Apes joke!

I'd like to hope that either Nintendo carry on with Donkey Kong Racing or they made a kind of platformer with this new project though.

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
Impressive control panel
I have to say that I'm impressed with the features available having logged on... Loads of info - excellent.
