Actually, they didn't, but consoles and games seem to be on my mind more and more these days. I love to play games, but I also have a lot of other things to do and sometimes I wonder just how healthy it would be to sit there playing games all day.
If it got too much worse, I'd never see the outside other than going to work everyday, but I still manage to have a social life, even if some of it involved my friends at the local games shop! I love to read stories about games and new technology. I even bought a cheap PS2 games mag the other day, despite not owning a PS2, just so I could keep up with what's going on!
So, consoles didn't ruin my life, but without much more control they could have easily kept me indoors all day, never to see daylight again.

I know what you mean! I don't have the money for much of a social life, and most TV bores the hell out of me, so it's games, games, games. Or it would be, if my wife didn't keep dragging me to the shops, or to her mothers every weekend!
