Was at a certain extreemly large memory suppliers website earlier looking for 128meg RAM. Anyways I checked it this morning and the price excluding VAT was £16.19.

Went back to check again and there was some glitch on my page which meant the prices of cheaper RAM had been duplicated on the 128meg one. So it was now showing £11.05. Heh heh so I clicked to buy it and lo and behold I got my RAM at that price.

When I went back to check the site again literally 1 minute after I'd ordered it was back at £16.19.

I know its only a fiver but I beat the system, somehow.

Normally you get two emails, one to thank you for your order, one to confirm it. It's not until you get this last email that the contract is legally binding, untill then, the firm retains the right to amend the price weather it be an error or not.

This was in the news recently when Argo made a big boo boo over the priceof a TV selling it for a good £200 less that it should have been. The error was spotted and the secondary email confirmed the sale at the real price. Kodak have also done this and lost ans well as Comet only last week!

Don't coun't your chickens until you get that all important order confirmation, without this they can change the price back and bill you for it!

Not really, Crucial supply direct, and are therefore one of the cheapest.

I would imagine they had a small server side glitch, making the product display at the wrong price. Consumers' statutory rights say they have to sell at the displayed price, so there's nothing they can do but give it to you at that price.

You got lucky!
