Romours have it that Sunday nights closest ever finish was actually set up my Schui!

I got this report from itvf1.com

Schumacher backed off on the line, allowing team-mate Rubens Barrichello to beat him by just 0.011s.

Schumacher, who had not warned his Ferrari team of his plans, said he had wanted to claim another record by orchestrating the closest finish in F1 history.

Asked if he had botched the finish, Schumacher replied: "Maybe. We have so many records and one of them is now the closest finish.

"We have a great team. Together we work hard. We have a fantastic team support each other.

"Today was a good opportunity to go over the line together. We tried and we failed by a little bit."

Barrichello thanked Schumacher for his actions.

He said: "It wasn’t planned. We never said anything before the race. In the end what can I say except thank you very much to Michael and the whole team.

"I guess the crowd was happy for me. The USA is a very important part of my life so it is very good to win here.

"I got to the last corner and didn’t know what to do. Michael was very kind to let us finish equally with me just in front."

Technical director Ross Brawn said he and team principal Jean Todt had nothing to do with the incident.

Asked if an order had been given to the drivers, he said: "There wasn’t any. That was the drivers so you need to speak to them about it.

"It took us by surprise a fair bit. I guess it was a finish for the cameras.

"They raced hard until the last 10 or 15 laps and then we asked them to turn their engines down and hold position."

And Brawn pointed to the incident involving Williams team-mates Juan Pablo Montoya and Ralf Schumacher as the reason Ferrari operate team orders.

He said: "When the cars are so evenly matched it is going to be hard for them to race – and we don’t want to see an incident like the one that happened between Ralf and Juan Pablo."

I think that it is a disgrace This is not the first time ferrari have made a mess of things as you well know!

That just proves how stupid Schumacher is then because with todays technology there's no such thing as a dead heat. There's always gonna be like a 0.000000000000001 difference

I don't think anything will stop me from watching F1. I actually found it funny that Schumacher cocked up. He wanted a dead heat and was reported to have been furious that he didn't win.

Yes Rubens they were very happy for you, that's why they were booing and jeering wasn't it? Sheesh a bit of the Michael Schumacher stupidity with the press there i see.

Anyway the only bit i watch now of F1 is the first 3 laps. By that time Ferrari have buggered off into the distance and it turns into a procession. Give me IndyCar or C.A.R.T racing anyday

Yeh, F1 has turned into a big farce. I don't bother with it anymore as a result of the first incident.
