Can you believe what happened on last night's Raw? At No Mercy, Bischoff announced that the Intercontinental and World Title would be merged. That means that the new title would encompass the history of the WWF European Title, WWF Hardcore Title, WcW US Title, the old WCW Title (now Raw World Title) and the Intercontinental Title as present.
WWE is really messing up the titles - I agree with having less, but this is just ridiculous. Also, has anyone noticed that Lesnar is supposed to be the Undisputed Champion (WWF and WCW Title), but that includes the World Title. So how can that title be on RAW, if it supposed to be Lesnar's?

They didn't make people care about the titles and because of their own imcompetence, they feel like they should get rid of them. In my opinion, none of the titles should have been scrapped.
The European title was something lower carders could go for.
The Cruiserweight title for the cruiserweights.
The Women's title for women (that means men can't go for it obviously).
The Tag Titles for tag teams.
The Hardcore title for pure crazy entertainers who should be given a chance to shine.
The IC title for mid carders with ambitions of main event.
The WWF Championship for the main eventers.
The lines were crossed too often. The European title ended up in the hands of midcarders. Cruiserweights and Hardcore wrestlers were never given enough time. Women's wrestling is struggling at the moment. The Tag division was killed when they restricted the titles to one show. They had no idea what to do with the IC title and the Championship is really messed up. If they had stuck to the plan, the roster split would never have been necessary. Everyone would have got a chance.

Lots of titles do mean you can spread out the huge roster more, but because of that, there are people saying it's unfair if an Undisputed title winner is in a match with an IC title-er, so I think there should just be the WWE Undisputed title. 1. And then just have divisions in matches, meaning people would get to wrestle in all sorts of styles.
There could also be one ppv in the year which is simply a tournament final on each style, i.e leading up and in the ppv there is a Hardcore tournament, a submission tournament etc.

Yes but just because the title isnt there, doesnt mean that there wont be hardcore matches anymore!
Wasnt it Russ who said that ECW will be returning soon, I would expect there to be plenty 'over-the-top' matches then and maybe a new title for that lot.

They should have four belts I think. WWE World Title, Intercontinental Title, Hardcore Title and the Womens Title. Simple. Vince is a plonker and a fool. Please Vince, give the company to Shane.

I understand that the WWE may have been under pressure to drop hardcore from American TV companies...in which case...Vince sold us all out AGAIN.

When Brock won the Undisputed title off Rock, he *was* the undisputed champ. But, Steph signed him to Smackdown. Therefore, because he wasnt wrestling on both shows, he wasnt deemed the *undisputed* champ. And so, Bishoff said that now that his title was definately disputed, he brought back the World Title and gave it to HHH.
Understand now?
Iguess you must have just missed the bit where they made Brocks title disputed.
Anyways, they better now put the World Title and IC title together. There would only be about 4 belts left!
