I know, they already offer it, but this is meant to be a new package for us internet users. Anyone read anything about it? Like how much? And do they seriously think that they will be able to launch this package without finally reaching a decent FRIACO agreement with the other ISP's? Come on, OFTEL, sort them out and let us bring online gaming into the 21st Century where it should be. We are so far behind the US on this, it really needs sorting out so that a) my ISP will let me say on longer than 60 minutes at a time, b) I can use more high bandwidth, c) I can finally Stream with my ISP, d) I can start to kick botties on Unreal Tournament without feeling like I'm wading through soup in zero g with lead boots on.

OFTEL arent the problem, the problem is BT who were avoiding opening up their network to 3rd Partys (ie ISPs). Oftel announced within the last month that BT has to get its act together, and thats why its brought out aload of new Internet Packages recently... its also why ISP companies should soon be able to offer packages that allows you to pay a set rate per month and surf as much as you want with no additional charge.
This should be great for us, hopefully it will also bring down the price of a USB modem connection... And not BT telecommunication system, BT are worried with this free for all now being allowed on their network that the network would collapse under the strain of the internet traffic. so much so it may even effect voice calls.

Good work OFTEL!

So BT should offer a better deal on Flat Rate Internet packages to the ISP's so that they then can lower their prices in line with BT's and make everyone better off. Except for BT. Which is exactly what everyone wants.

It's OFTEL that are the problem. They won't allow BT to offer lower prices, as other Telco's couldn't maintain a low price, so it's seen as anti-competitive.

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
