I can't understand this...

Someone please explain to my if we have an annual profit of £32 mil + this year why we haven't got the money to buy a couple of defenders and a striker?

People will pinpoint the purchase of Rio as the main reason, however if you think about it:

Jaap Stam - £16.5 Mil
Andy Cole - £7.5 Mil
Dwight Yorke - £2 Mil

and giving free's to Irwin, Johnsen, Van der Gouw and Teddy.

Regain in Sales - which is a total of around £26 mill, So theoretically United Bought Forlan and Rio for £11 million (inc the sales) So did Alex Ferguson only have 11 mil to spend this summer including what he had sold?

Now we have a profit of £30+ mil so why no more money to spend?

It gets on my nerves though how many top class players slip through the net just because the prawn eating board decide it's too much. Sure Ronaldo would cost alot of money but think how much they'd recoup from sponsorship and investment alone. Having Becks and Ronaldo on the same team along with Veron, Giggs, Scholes, Ferdinand and Van Nistelrooy all on the same team would be an unstoppable force and would certainly repay the board back with trophies.
If not Ronaldo what's wrong with buying the likes of Ronaldinho for around £25 Mill, Roberto Carlos for £20 Mill who reportadly is unhappy at the Bernabeu and Real will probably be looking how to make some money? Hernan Crespo never came and he'd probably cost around £20 mill. And let's not forget the likes of Kluivert and Rivaldo who haven't come because of a penny pinching board

We've only paid half of the Rio transfer. Another £15M(ish) to be paid in July. So I suppose you gotta take that into account.

And the profits were blatentley going to rise (from last year) when we spent close to £50M on two players.

Youve just proved my point even further Solksjaer, all these high wages and still a £32 Mil Profit? This is even more profit than Real Madrid have made and their wage bill is much more mind blowing - Figo, Carlos, Zidane, Hierro, Morientas, yet they can buy world class players like Ronaldo on a huge wage bill and we have no money left?

Beckham's now on £100,000 a week.
Veron's on £60k, and I think Ruud is too.
Roy Keane was on £52,000, but i'm sure it's gone upto £60k at-least.
I think Barthez is on about £50,000 too...

And the other First Team Regulars seem to be somewhere between £25,000 and £40,000 - on average.

This can't be helping!
