Sorry for the absence there, when i moved into my new uni room a couple of weeks ago, they hadn't managed to get the net connections working. They managed it on friday, the day after my computer had started blue-screening me and refusing to do things properly. Explorer very occasionally got as far opening the homepage (very slowly), but mostly wouldn't do anything.
After discussions with a uni techie, it seemed like their side was okay, so it looked like re-formatting.
Not actually able to do anything like that myself, i got some help from one of my new flatmates, a computer science fresher. Things didn't really work still. Eventually, after finding someone's pc to make a win 98 boot disk from (mine was me, but we didn't have the cd), and another guy i know (comp sci 3rd yr) happening to stop by and getting roped in, we *cough* discovered the drives' allocated letters had been changed, so when we were trying to get to the cd drive, we were looking at the virtual drive on the ram. Eventually, we got there.
If you skipped that part, i reformatted my pc.
Now while back to win 98 (though from ME, it's questionable whether it's really a step backwards :^) ), everything's working again, it seems.
For now anyway.
Naturally when copying files to disk before reformatting it's inevitable that you'll forget some useful stuff. I lost a gad attempt i wrote when i couldn't post it. Was quite a good one too, a real contender. Maybe. Then again, i'm not sure how often they check the ninty forum. Might try to remember how it went if i get time.
Anyway, good to be back :^)
Good to see ya back
Now re write that GAD attempt, who cares for lectures when you can get free games!?
;)
Right I've got a lecture this afternoon I'm off.
