I'll probably buy this kit, but I need to know where to get a monitro which supports "sync-on-green" to output the compatible VESA mode.

I will probably, but you can't install the kit in this way. You need a monitor with sync on green to install it in the first place. The uni I'm at already has the kits, they might let me install it in uni then I can use my TV to actually work the damn thing.

Will be quite cool though, just started Net Yaroze programming at uni, now I want to play with the "proper" thing now :D

the PS2 linux website (official US site, but cant remember the URL, something like ps2linux.com?) has a HUGE list of makes of monitors which support sync on green, otherwise do what half of Japan do... use your TV, doesn't look to bad.
