Several sites reported that Miyamoto had died of a heart attack in his house in Tokyo. However, Miyamoto lives in Kyoto, not Tokyo, and he never had heart problems. So, fortunately his still with us, and we won't have to miss him and his creations.
What a stupid, childish joke to make up a story like this.
PHEW !
I was sure he was at least 60, if not 70!
I remember seeing his name in the end-of-game Credits for Super Mario World and thinking about what a great man he must be. I also thought he was only about 20 at the time, but he surely wasn't.
I also remember not being able to pronnounce his name at the age of 7 or 8 or something... :)
And if you jumble up the letters in 'Kyoto' you can get... 'Tokyo'! :o
But no, I didn't start that rumour! :P
