i have downloaded an emulator and game from the internet. I know i need to unzip the emulator but it has the paint icon and every time i click on it it says that it is not a valid bitmap file or its format is not supported. How can i change this so i can unzip the emulator and play the game?

Rename it so that it is a .zip file. Then it should unzip.
Sites commonly rename the files to other things as many hosts automatically block the uploading of .zip files so that they cannot be accused of hosting warez etc.
