I am upgrading my PC and I am looking for a good motherboard to go with a XP2100, could anybody suggest one that works reasonably well with apps and games (oh and is relatively cheap :P).

All 266 motherboards are physically capable of an XP1600 -> XP2800. However, you may need a BIOS update in order to run properly.

Most do, the one i'm getting goes up to 1800XP I think, i'm not fussed...
Most motherboards on the website i shop at have very little info so you have to check out the manufacturer's website for the details..which are sometimes different to the ones given on other websites...try and find an image of the motherboard and figure out which part is which, it helps...unless of course they show a different image :D

3 cards, I think i did pretty well there, I only looked through 1 website as i'd rather be doing other things, although this intrested me too as i'm in need of a new motherboard... Doesn't need quite the same CPU though.

I also only listed the few cards that gave me a bit of info about them and looked as if they'd support a 2100XP.
Hope thats what you were looking for.

you mentioned the place where these were offered in another 'recent' post so you obviously just can't be bothered to check for yourself :p shame on you.

Also, whats your hdd? ATA or UDMA, how many PCI slots do you need? what form is your case? ATX or AT? + how big is your motherboard space?? you might need a new case aswell as a new motherboard, and if your using ISA slots, you might need to upgrade those cards too (e.g. soundcard, video card, network card) not sure what else you might have down there.

Any special requirements like 4x USBs, 2100XP compatable motherboards will not doubt have 4x AGP slots for video cards....have you already got one or are you using a PCI/ISA card?

ooh, and do you want/have DDR ram or SDram, are you going to buy more?

tell me that and i'll go look for a specific one, i'm off now to gather a list of good value 2100XP compatable...
