Greek Law Person: It is now illegal to play games and those who do will be sentenced to death... err a long prison sentence.
*Time passes, people moan*
Greek Law Person: Actually it's not illegal we were just being stupid and didn't notice this meant nearly every person in the county couldn't play games.
*Time passes, people play games*
Greek Law Person: It's illegal again... we don't need a reason

Now a valuable lesson learned from this... is that it seems the Greek people have a bad case of sunstroke. Remember the plane spotters and now this etc. not a place to go on you summer holidays.
However, this topic takes a change and moves to a serious point.
The Ancient Greeks invented democracy... America likes to say it did but it never. So we have the nation that gave us democracy now tearing it apart in a ridiculous way. In Britain we live in a democracy... which basically means:
1) Everyone in the country over a certain age has the right to vote in a government of there choice... without corruption etc etc.
2) Lots of other political stuff as being a choice of parties to vote... your MP representing your town and elections every five years.
3) Our basic freedoms.
Now it is the last one that is of interest to us. I'm sure most people know most of the freedoms such as:
Freedom of Speech/Privacy/Osotiation/Religion/Espression and Writing and Protest.
These freedoms all fit into today's modern society and are an important factor in where we live. It gives us the write to speak out against the government, join any religious organisation (or make your own), protest against issues we dislike without being arrested and thrown in a jail cell for what you believe in. In the modern world of computers, games and the Internet these freedoms, such as privacy are false. For the fact that the government and companies can know what naughty web sites you’ve been on and know personal information on you.
Anyway, the point I’m getting at is that in this new modern 21st century should people not have the freedom of gaming?
If the issues in Greece had not been raised nobody would even have considered this but now two owners of an internet café could go to jail for letting a customer play games? It’s completely out of order. What if that was too happen here? One day Tony Blair thinks that Internet gambling is so serious that all games should be banned in Britain. Special Reserve would almost definitely go out of business, many people will have wasted money on consoles and games, think of the job loses in the industry and the economy never mind the boredom of every day life without games in Britain.
So should some sort of law come into place that gives us the right to play games without them one day being cut off from us? Should maybe the government in Greece be sensible and just make up their mind and ban Internet gambling? Well I personally we all have the freedom to play games… even playing football in parks where they have the “ no ball game signs “. That’s it go on, be a rebel baby.

This is also the same for games. Though we may be free to play games, we are captive to play the games the large companies all want us to play and the whole games business is run by only several larger companies moving their money around and not having a care about what games their programmers produce, as long as it brings them money.
