I am trying to connect my Cybiko to a PC via the RS232 port - connected to COM Port 1 and my won't recognise the Cybiko. All the software/ connection is installed correctly but it won't pick it up. Am I right in thinking the RS232 port is the only port with that size connector (number of pins etc). The reason I ask this is that I had a card at home with what I believe to be a RS232 port on it - but it donesn't work :(
Any help appreciated, thanks.

There are two ports of that size on most PCs. One is your parallel (printer) port, the other is the COM (serial) port.

You may already know this, but the printer port is a female connector (has holes), while the COM port is a male connector (has pins).

Make sure you're using the right cable (did it come with the Cybiko?) on the right port. If you somehow have them the wrong way round, you will need a Gender Changer, which can be bought from PC World or Tandy for a couple of quid.
