Enter Jet Set Radio, the Movie. Starring Elijah Wood and Liv Tyler as two members of a street skate gang, the plot moves from the game's Tokyo location to the streets of San Francisco, where a huge corporation, Ira-qi, has taken over the city and plans to take over the government.
Due to the nature of the film, there will obviously be a few changes to the format. The kids will spray a paint dissolving solution, in order to clean up the streets from the evil gang’s horrible graffiti, the other gangs will be mutants who have been horribly deformed by some form of chemical warfare.
With the help of a new recruit, played by Jason Mewes, they take on the corporation's own police force and the other street gangs in a vicious war of graffiti and stylish skating, culminating in a face off with the police chief, Mad Mike (Ben Stiller) before meeting the mysterious head of Ira-qi, Badman Hussien.
Expect lots of martial arts violence as the mutant gangs get a taste of blood and the amazing effects of an overused bullet-time are littered throughout the movie. Watch the gangs use real street language, like ‘dude’ and ‘man’ and witness the amazing soundtrack from bands you have never heard before.
Coming soon to a theatre near you, Jet Set Radio The Movie. Directed by Michael Bay. Rated R.
