Unfortunatly you all know Rare has been sold to Microsoft and will create Microsoft exclusive games in teir whoping $375 million deal.

As a great Nintendo fan and especially Perfect Dark and Nintendo. But after finding out Rare have gone i thought we would see multi format versions of the great games such as Perfect Darks sequal. However after an anouncement I am very very shocked and i mean speachless.

Perfect Dark sequal and Kameo are now X-Box only. I am MAD NOW! Oh well.

The most stupid thing to do? I think that's the stupidest thing I've heard all day. GTA3 is EASILY the best game on the PS2, and probably any home console at the moment (at least untill October 4th) and look how many people buy it! I've got loads of enjoyment out of that game, like so many others, and with that $375 million, it's probably the best thing Nintendo could do.

But Sony would never let them.

If the X-Box had any decent games on it, I'd pick one up, but it doesn't. In the fast moving console wars of today, it's all about supporting a console, and I feel I should stay loyal to Nintendo.

Buying the GTA series as an exclusive would posasibly the most stupid thing to do. They're aren't very good games and Rockstar would make you pay a fortune for exclusive rights.

I didn't say they have to.
Besides, by the time Kameo comes out, the Xbox will probably be £100 with Halo (and possibly the DVD remote). That's almost worth it for Halo and the DVD player alone.

Add to that some great exclusive games from Rare and Sega, plus the Xbox's strongest advantage over the competition - Xbox live.

The Gamecube is still my console of choice, but there's somethings that the Cube can't do and the Xbox will compliment it nicely.

The poor thing's going to WANT to have a rest after constant playing of Mario etc... :-)

Fair enough.
But seeing as those excellent Gamecube titles are fairly spread out, and seeing as you win games so regularly (lucky sod! :-P), that shouldn't be TOO much of a hinderance...

If i had enough cash i'd pick up an X-box for the

I think in 6 months time, heavy price cuts, great online abilities and a fair few killers titles should seal it.
And that's by the time Kameo is out.

By the time Perfect Dark comes out, you'll probably be able to pick up an Xbox free with a pack of cornflakes! ;-D

Bit too much adult material in that series mate. ;-) Only joking. ;-)
Seriously though, that would be a bit difficult right now because Sony have the GTA series exclusive to the PS2 until something like the end of 2004 or going into 2005.

It's not about "supporting" a console, it's about enjoying games.

If you want Rare games, it's well worth picking an Xbox up to play them.
I'll also be wanting my Gamecube for Nintendo games.

Gamecube sales are more than comfortable enough to keep Nintendo afloat, especially as they didn't waste too much money support it (unlike MS whove thrown money at it left, right and centre).

No need to worry yourself about Nintendo.

But thats not the point, I don't want an X-box.

By your logic all GC owners should pick up an X-box cheap, which would massively increase sales, pushing to a number sold thats twice as high as the GC's, thus making the Gamecube the failing console by a long way. Developers will stop making games for it and support will dry up. Is that what you want?

So now there's the matter of the $375 million. I'd have a right laugh at Microsoft and Sony if Nintendo bought the GTA series. Now that would be clever!
