Although we didn't play brilliantly yesterday, we took the chances we had and this is what weve been missing in many games this season, the clinical finish, when RVN is firing we are getting the goals when mattered, but it shows we are relying on him too much.
Other then minor problems, the defence is looking better this season, Gary Neville is also back and ive heard Scholesy aint far behind either and if this is the start for Ruud firing on all cylinders again - our premiership campaign starts now.
On another note Shevchenko's name keeps popping up in the media for a £20 mil United move in January, Ruud Van Nistlerooy and Shevchenko upfront - Imagine that for a pairing.
Great display from RVN last night, well taken goal almost the same as the one against Maccabi Haifa and a nice tap in always good to see. Although i was very disappointed to see Ferguson adopting Sven's tactic of play for one half then decide to sit on your own goal line and invite pressure for the rest of the game. The old united would never have done that they'd have kept the ball for almost the whole of the 2nd half and not let Leverkusen anywhere near their goal.
Anyway, yeah Ruud played like the world class striker that he is last night. He worked hard for the ball.
*faints*
heh, but really, I've never seen Ruud play score good. Totally out of this world. We can go a long way in Europe if he can repeat that kind of form. His performance is even greater when you consider he plays as the lone striker,no wonder he had to go off at half time!
Another assist for Veron which is always nice to see :)
